1991 O'Flannery Coat of Arms Caveant hostes. (Let enemies beware)

The Flannery Clan in the Williams Valley apparently started with the arrival of William F Flannery in Australia about 1855. He came from Galway, Ireland. Apparently he had four children with his wife Jane Pardy. These children were James Pardy Flannery, Susan Adeline Flannery, John Flannery and Jane Flannery. These four siblings married four siblings from the Gorton Clan. The Gorton's were to have a fairly close relationship with the Flannery's for the next few generations. Any study of the Flannery genealogy would not be complete without including the early Gorton Clan links. There are also some very interesting Historical Accounts of the lives of the four Gorton siblings that married the four Flannery siblings. I have also included a very interesting journal of a distant relative of their Journey from England to Australia. I have included it as an example of the kind of hardships that would have been endured in such a trip. This was sent to me by Donna Fearne, who was researching her family history. She was looking at it from the female perspective and somewhere along the line it crossed paths with the Flannery's and she contacted me.
